Job Title:  Junior Technical Support Assistant (Reporting to the Technical Manager)

Scope of Role:   A junior technical support role with the opportunity to progress into a more advanced role as time permits.   Initial duties will be as follows:

Internal Staff Support

-    Issue\Problem management

-    Desktop support and general configuration of software

-    Network support and general configuration (Internal & External)

-    Low level administrative duties (ie. Domain Renewals \ Licensing)

-    Low level operational duties (ie. Server Log checks \ File Backups etc)

-    Low level server support (General Maintenance)

External Client Support (via Telephone & Email)

-    Resetting of client passwords (Email \ FTP)

-    Troubleshooting of client email issues

-    Deployment of new customer websites

-    Providing technical assistance as required for new client projects

-    Ability to liase with customers in an empathic and technically effective manner

Key Behaviours:    To be considered you must be IT literate with a good knowledge of Microsoft based technology.  You should be organised and have a good phone manner. You will be flexible, reliable and able to communicate (verbal and written) with all levels. You should have the ability to use your initiative and work with minimum supervision.  Other key behaviours and skills required as follows:

•    Windows XP experience (Vista also desirable)

•    Windows Server 2003 experience (not necessary but advantageous)

•    Web Server Experience (IIS \ Apache – not necessary but advantageous)

•    Database experience (MS SQL, MS Access & MySQL)

•    Email Server Experience (SMTP\POP3 – not necessary but advantageous)

•    Networking (TCP/IP platform – not necessary but advantageous)

•    Can take leadership & ownership of an issue from start to end.

•    Is a good team worker

•    Has good attention to detail

•    Is innovative

•    Is strategically minded

•    Is business focused

•    Has a strong customer focus

•    Has good communication skills

Work Conditions:    Working hours are 9am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday, with a one hour unpaid lunch break.  Overtime may be asked of you in order to perform system maintenance during off-peak hours and to resolve system failures.
