Global Warming – it’s Google’s fault
If you are using Google to find all your services and products then you may have to give up tea or coffee to compensate to the increased carbon footprint caused by search.
Top US physicist Alex Wissner-Gross has worked out that a single search from a desktop computer creates about 7g CO2. If this is the case then it is a sobering fault. Google of course have been quick to deny this and have come back with their own stats which are very different to those published by Dr Wissner Gross.
It goes without saying a service such as Google is going to be burning some serious juice with their data centres in order to provide the super speedy service that we have come to expect.
But do we actually care as a whole if Dr Wissner-Gross is 100% correct? One would suspect not.
