I’m exhausted and glad that it’s Friday, it has been a punishing week and there just seems to be so much that has happened in the SEO world and the wider world that I will need the quiet weekend to reflect and take it all in.

Thunderbolt #1

Bing – Microsoft’s new attempt at creating a name in the field of search. I have seen mixed responses so far to Bing. I have has not had as much time as I would of liked to really get into Bing – I did have a wee look at the ‘Google Killer’ earlier this week, but do feel free to catch-up on my first thoughts on Bing.

Thunderbolt #2

Page Rank Sculpting is over – The word is on the street any internal nofollows are now as about as much use as a chocolate teapot. The jury is still out on this, but if Matt Cutts statement turns out to be 100% true, what implications this will have on SEO? The subject is  still being hotly debated.  If you have not yet had a chance to look at this, then take a trip to SeoMoz for Rand’s original post on Google and NoFollow Page Rank Algorithm.

Thunderbolt #3

The British Government – Wow, talk about capitulation. Watching the British Government implode the way they have is nothing short of sensational. The Blogosphere has been running white hot with buzz, chatter and commentary on what has been taking place at Westminster in these past few days.

The world of SEO changes hard and fast; what will happen next week is anyone’s guess. But I know this much something will happen, it always does, but at least you can take comfort that you will probably be in a job longer than Gordon Brown!
