CallTrackID.
CallTrackID™ allows you to track the volume of telephone enquiries generated by your website, segmented by traffic sources including paid and organic search, social media and other referring sites, and email marketing. This data can then be fed into a Google Analytics profile for easy reporting.
CallTrackID™ is offered as an additional tracking feature to Fresh Egg clients. This adds an extra layer of visibility to measure the full impact of your online marketing activity on an individual channel basis. The benefits include:
- Telephone call tracking that integrates with Google Analytics.
- Call volumes can be added to other on-site goals such as email enquiries and orders to increase accuracy of ROI and conversion reporting by channel.
- Allows analysis of which channels are more likely to drive phone enquiries. This insight can in turn shape campaign creative and strategy.
- Simple, quick and affordable implementation.
- International numbers can be provided if required, along with local area numbers and numbers which are free to call from mobiles.
Dynamic phone numbers are presented to users on your site dependent on the originating source of each visit. Therefore any user arriving on the site through an organic search will be presented with a corresponding phone number and users visiting the site via paid search ads will be presented with a dedicated number for the paid search channel.
Call volumes for each individual number is tracked and then fed into a dedicated CallTrackID™ profile in your Google Analytics account. The volumes for each traffic source being tracked are reported as visits within the Google Analytics profile. Generally speaking it is recommended that a number is used for each key channel or campaign. A typical example would be to use a number for each of the following:
- Organic search
- Google Adwords
- Email marketing
- Direct Traffic
- Referring sites
In theory there is no limit to the amount of numbers you can acquire. However, there is a set up cost associated with each additional number, so it would not generally be practical to track calls down to a keyword level. Although specific keywords could be tracked, CallTrackID™ is intended for top line channel tracking. With traffic from mobile devices also continually rising, mobile users visiting your site could also be presented with unique numbers.
