Fresh Egg Community Events

This page lists a number of digital marketing events. Some are run by Fresh Egg and some are run by other organisations. Events organised or hosted by Fresh Egg are highlighted with the Fresh Egg Community Events logo.

We host regular events here at our Worthing Headquarters, to create a hub for the ever expanding local digital community.

These events are aimed at digital technicians and marketers, and span a broad range of subject disciplines; from web design and development to Google analytics & social media. The events are informal and provide a place where people can get together socially, network and share ideas and advice.

Completely free to attend, with a mixture of both Fresh Egg and external speakers, we have a number of interesting opportunities on the horizon. If you'd like to present at, or host a digital event at Fresh Egg, please get in touch!

15 May 2012 7-9pm VBUG Southern Presents: A Good Look at Visual Studio 2012 Speaker: Ian Finlayson

After a day in Reading with Microsoft looking at Visual Studio 11 I will bring back what I learn and try to fit it into 1.5 hours or so. This should allow you to take a good look at the newest Microsoft Development Environment.

31 May 2012 8-10pm Worthing Digital Presents: Sussex Innovation Centre: Helping local business succeedFresh Egg Community EventsSpeaker: Mike Herd

Covering all technology areas from digital media through environmental technology to new medical devices, Mike will use real company examples to illustrate the ethos, structure, working models and successes of the Sussex Innovation Centre.

Mike Herd has been the Executive Director of the Sussex Innovation Centre for over 15 years, during which time he has supported the start-up, growth and in many cases successful exit of hundreds of new technology businesses. The Centre has won many awards and is used nationally and internationally as an example of best practice in how to support entrepreneurs. As well as supporting local new businesses, Mike also now leads on the commercialisation of research at the University of Sussex.

August 2012 7-9pm How to build the links that Google will love you having and you'll enjoy building Fresh Egg Community EventsSpeaker: Kelvin Newman of Site Visibility

We all know Google love links but how do you actually get them? Some people say building good content is enough, that's a lie. You need a savvy and practical approach to building links to your website if you want to compete in a competitive market place.

You'll get an action plan on how to build business changing links.

With guest speaker, Kelvin Newman. In his role as Strategy Director at SiteVisibility Kelvin's responsible for the iTunes most popular marketing podcast. On the show he's collaborated with a number of the world's most respected marketers including Seth Godin, Tim Ferris, Avinash Kaushik & Jakob Nielsen.

He's delivered presentations across UK & Europe at events like A4U, SMX London and SASCON, regularly contributes to State of Search & Econsultancy and is heavily involved with SiteVisibility's innovative search marketing campaigns for clients such as Hotels.com, FindaProperty, Gala Bingo & uSwitch. He also runs the hugely oversubscribed BrightonSEO conference which sold out in 13 minutes and has written a free book on link building called Becoming a Clockwork Pirate.
